Mission

Tava Cares, Inc provides financial assistance and resources to women diagnosed with breast cancer, their caregivers and family members to help them fight against the hardships of the disease.

Vision

Tava Cares, Inc aims to serve as a conscientious fighting companion of care doing its part to eradicate the overwhelming feelings of helplessness, anxiety, worry, and stress of breast cancer patients, caregivers and families due to financial burdens and the depletion of resources that the costs related to breast cancer treatments can cause.

TAVA CARES

Tava Cares, Inc is a nonprofit dedicated to serve as a conscientious fighting companion of care. It’s here to do its part to eradicate the overwhelming feelings of helplessness, anxiety, worry, and stress of breast cancer patients, caregivers and their families. This is largely due to financial burdens and the depletion of resources that the costs related to breast cancer treatments can cause. Through our mission, we provide financial assistance and resources to help all affected fight against the hardships of the disease. Our programs are designed to fill in the gaps and voids that other available services may not provide in order to improve or maintain the quality of life. Your generous donation can help us help them.

TAVA PROGRAMS

Our programs are designed to fill in the gaps and voids that other available services may not provide in order to improve or maintain the quality of life a woman diagnosed with breast cancer which may ease the burdens of caregivers and family as well. Either Tava Cares can assist with in-house resources or with the assistance of partners.

TC Giving

The costs related to breast cancer treatments can quickly become a financial burden and economic hardship for all affected. Dealing with finances and insurance can be more than overwhelming especially if a woman with breast cancer is unable to work as before or may be ambulatory. Tava Cares gives financial assistance by way of grants, check reimbursement, vouchers, gift cards, or in-kind means to help offset the cost of prescription drugs, monthly insurance premium payments, co-pays, and deductibles, transportation, gas, parking, lodging, meals, child care and senior care, housekeeping, hair needs, prosthetics and other medical needs.

Tava Care Kits

Tava Care Kits are designed to free the mind of the breast cancer illness for a bit and fill it with a day or night of fun. Dress up, laugh and have a good time in the city with a spouse, partner or friend!

• Book a babysitter or send the kids off for some kid-friendly fun. A $40 value.

• Movie for Two. Includes a pair of movie tickets, large popcorn and two drinks. A $50 value.

• Dinner for Two. Includes appetizer, entree, dessert and drinks. A $75 value.

• Art & Culture for Two. Catch a play or musical, a festival, visit museums, see some live entertainment. A $100 value.

• Staycation. Get out the house for awhile. Includes weekend stay for you and a guest at a 4-5 star hotel including overnight parking and meals.

ReTREATment Plan

Just what the doctor ordered, a ReTREATment Plan! Take a spa day to relax the mind of overwhelming feelings of helplessness, anxiety, worry, and the stress of breast cancer illness. Enjoy a day of massage (if tolerable), hair, nails and face pampering on us to feel like the beautiful woman you still are!

JALENE MACK, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Jalene Mack is an award-winning author and public speaker among many other things. She majored in Political Science and minored in Mass Communications receiving her Bachelor of Art’s Degree from Xavier University of New Orleans in 1990. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in May 1993 and was admitted to the bar thereafter.

 

Jalene Mack has mainly served as an Entertainment and business Attorney and has also built a solid career record and an outstanding professional reputation through Booker T. Morris, III & Associates, P.C., Chicago Title Insurance Co., Gulf Coast Legal Foundation n/k/a Lone Star Legal Foundation and Department of Justice, U.S. Trustee’s Office and Former New Orleans Mayor now Urban League National President, Attorney Marc H. Morial laying a solid foundation for Tava Lifestyle, LLC’s general counsel.

 

She is the Founder of Mack Performing Arts Collective, Inc. (MPAC) a 501 (C) 3 non-profit corporation founded by her January 24, 2011. With her transferrable leadership skills in nonprofit life, taking the reigns as Executive Director for Tava Cares, Inc. was a natural transition.
